Understand the concepts, definitions, and hazards associated with backflow and the different devices we use to prevent it. We’ll first talk about all the different forms of Backflow Prevention, then drill down into the specific models that you’ll deal with in the field on Sprinkler Systems. Participate in “Skill Builder Exercises” as we break down and rebuild several models. *This is NOT a state Testing Certification school. Contact your respective states in the USA for details on getting certified to test devices.* This is a beginner level Course, designed for current or training technicians as a stand-alone module of information, or as part of Pro Irrigation Training’s Certification Program. There are no pre-requisites for this Course, although we recommend that you take our free Course, Introduction to Irrigation and Sprinkler Systems to have a basic understanding of sprinkler system layout.*Curriculum:Introduction to Backflow, Definitions and Concepts, Regulatory Authority and Testing, Types of Backflow Preventers, Residential Dual Check, Anti-Siphon Valves, Pressure Vacuum Breakers, Double Check Valve Assembly, Reduced Pressure Principal Assembly, Troubleshooting and Winterization, then an eight question quiz to text your knowledge about Backflow Prevention.
