Schoolism – Designing with Color & Light with Nathan Fowkes

This course describes in depth and detail the use of light and color to create exciting concept illustrations and space designs in a variety of art projects.

I will walk you through the practical use of techniques such as:
– Color theory for expressive color solutions
– Choice of color to create a range of emotions and effective storytelling
– Developing the atmosphere of the space and using it to create emotions
– Lighting creation
– Preparing your own portfolio of concept illustrations
In addition, I will tell you about the “pipeline” production of such art projects in the entertainment industry, and the role that art departments play in the design process. We will go through the entire process of developing and implementing an idea, starting with the preparation of thumbnails, creating a graphic sketch, and ending with the imposition of primary colors and the final rendering of the image.
