This is a 720P MP4 transcode of the very high bit-rate presentations by Karen Curry which were uploaded as .mkv files some hours ago. This will save you about 90% of the file-size with almost negligible loss in viewing quality. Variable bit-rate was used for encoding the video since most of the time is spent looking at pages of her presentation, which means nothing is changing for several seconds at a time.
Between that and reducing the video size from 1080P to 720P (should look just as good, really, on a 1080P display or only negligibly worse-it’s a talking head at the “most exciting” parts and fairly simple presentation slides, otherwise).
I created this version for my personal archives to save 10GB on disk and create files that will play back more smoothly on my TV’s built-in media player (MKV files, especially 1080P, tend to glitch a bit for me). MP4 also plays great on a lot more device types.
