Learn to design, model and texturise a 3D miniature set beyond imagination
For Santiago Morales – visual designer and illustrator – imagination is, literally, the only limit. His creations range from colorful shapes and memorable characters to surrealist universes in another dimension. In this course you will learn a way to create a fantastic 3D encapsulated diorama, from its conceptualization, reference search and inspiration to 3D modeling and the final touch-up with Procreate, Cinema 4D, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Learn the techniques and creative process of a professional referring to the sector, who has worked for such prestigious brands as Bacánika, Beyou, Octi, Dynaudio, Dreamworks and Procreate.
About this course
First you will know a little about Santiago, his beginnings as a designer and illustrator, his journey and you will take a look at his influences and references.
Then you will begin to know Procreate, its interface, commands and main tools, along with some examples of final illustrations, so you can see the full potential of them.
You will carry out a reference and inspiration search to create a moodboard with selected images and you will also define a color palette in Adobe Photoshop and then make several sketches in Procreate and define the composition of your miniature world.
You will work in Cinema 4D, you will know its interface and basic tools to build your universe. You will begin to model using your sketch as a guide, and you will learn techniques to create complex shapes and modify them as you want.
Now you will need to add details to your 3D diorama. You will learn to export the UVS to Photoshop to create textures and import them back to Cinema 4D and, in addition, you will configure the materials using OctaneRender as a rendering engine. Next you will create and configure the camera, the lights and the HDRI.
Finally, you will learn how to configure the output of the render and add the layers ID to add touch-ups, brush strokes, illustrations and effects in Photoshop.
