Scott Templeton, studied Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the center of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu directly from Royce Gracie and he also received a coaching certificate; he studied Judo under the direction of Mike Swain (5th dan Judo, Olympic bronze medalist in Seoul, bronze and gold at the Pan-American games 83 and 87 years); and was a regular sparring partner of five-time champion UFC Matt Hughes. He holds a 4th dan Shorin-ryu karate.
