Requirements:
Tools : writing brush, ink, inkstone, underlay, paperweight, and hanshi paper (Explained in Lecture 3 of Section 1)
You do not need to prepare all of the tools specifically for calligraphy. There is no problem with using substitutes.
Beginners are also welcome to take the course.
Japanese language skills is NOT required. (All subtitles are in English)

It is said that it is important to be aware of the 3 stages of learning a skill in anything, In Japanese culture, these 3 stages are called “Shu”, “Ha”, “Ri”. More detailed information on “Shu”, “Ha”, “Ri” can be found in Lecture 2 of Section 1 of the introduction course.My course is composed of 3 main courses in accordance with the 3 stages “Shu”, “Ha”, “Ri” in mind. Those will be updated sequentially.Those who have taken 3 main courses will be able to create their own original works of Japanese calligraphy.In course1, you will learn the basic knowledge of Japanese calligraphy, such as swiping and jumping stroke.In course2, you will learn how to write beautifully and stylishly, including the radicals and balance of kanji characters.In course3, you will learn the knowledge and skills necessary to create their own works of art. As you take each course, your calligraphy skills will improve and you will be able to write different types of strokes.< Course 1 >you will learn 6 basic techniques of calligraphy, such as swiping, jumping stroke, through some section videos.Section 1 explains an introduction and basic knowledge of calligraphy.Sections 2 through 7 are divided into learning and practicing lectures to help you learn basic techniques.In the learning lecture, we will explain how to write stroke and points to note, and you will actually practice and learn how to use a brush In the practicing lecture, you will write kanji characters that are used in daily life and experience how the techniques learned in the learning lecture are used. You can develop the technique by practicing how to write kanji characters.Section 8 will be a final check to see if you could write the techniques you have learned by writing kanji characters.We explain the techniques of Japanese calligraphy in a way that is easy to understand for beginners. We believe that you will enjoy the course and feel your skills improve as you progress through the course.Also, the most important thing in Japanese calligraphy is to enjoy writing!
