Description
In this course, Great Britain scout and coach, Jamie Kingstone will take you step by step through the key components of hockey.Jamie has worked with the Great Britain Hockey team across all age groups giving him a deep understanding of how to develop the skills and tactics required to play hockey at the highest standard. He now runs his own training Hockey Academy, JK Hockey in the UK, working alongside a host of International and Olympic Hockey players.The course will begin by introducing the basic dribbling, and passing and receiving skills that underpin hockey, before learning to apply these skills to develop a strong attack as an individual and as a team.We’ll also look at defensive tackling skill and how to guard against attacking players, using individual skills to retrieve the ball, and working as a team pressure the attacking into making difficult passes.The course ends by looking at how to score from a wide range of positions and scenarios around the D and apply the skills learned throughout the course to develop effective game strategies and tactics.We’ve added in some of Jamie’s lesson plans for you to learn some of the drills and progressions he uses to teach some of the skills throughout the course, and we’ll provide you with some teaching resources to support your players and students to improve their understanding.By the end of the course, you should understand teach hockey to players at any stage of their development.See you on the pitch!
