In “Lost in the Jungle”, we’ll be creating a thrilling jungle scene. I’ll guide you through the process of turning a concept into a fully illustrated cartoon scene, sharing tips and techniques along the way.We’ll draw characters and elements using simple shapes, making them easy and fun to draw. The style is simple and fun, somewhat kawaii, with charming, adorable features. Feel free to add your own flair and creativity to each character, modifying the drawings to suit your unique artistic vision. Let your imagination run wild as we bring our jungle adventure to life with your personal touch and creativity!What will you learn?This class goes beyond step-by-step instructions. I’ll share my approach to each drawing and show you how to play with shapes to design unique characters and settings. My goal is to give you the skills to create your own jungle scenes using your imagination. You’ll learn:- How to turn a concept into a fully illustrated cartoon scene- Techniques for combining simple shapes to create captivating jungle elements- Tips and tricks for adding details and bringing your scene to lifeProject DescriptionWe’ll start by examining my concept drawing for a jungle scene. Together, we’ll take this idea and expand on it, creating our own unique scene in pen. With each step, I’ll guide you through the process of turning the concept into a fully illustrated cartoon scene, sharing tips and techniques along the way. Add your own elements to make the scene uniquely yours.The project consists of six parts. We begin by sketching out our jungle setting. Each subsequent part will show you how to draw different jungle elements. Feel free to change it up, substituting different elements to make your own jungle adventure.LessonsHere are the hands-on lessons that will lead you to the final drawing:1. Setting and Main Characters: Layout the scene and create focus on the main characters.2. Parrot, Sloth and Lizard: Create playful cartoons in the trees and jungle vines.3. Leopard, Frog and Gorilla: Draw a curious characters checking out the explorers.4. Trees, Flowers and Foliage: Complete the scene with a lush jungle background and tropical flowers.What materials do I need?It’s all really basic stuff. This list will get you all set up:- Pencil (I like 2B or 3B but any will do)- Black fine liner (I use 0.5mm usually)- Eraser- Sketchbook or printer size paper- Thicker black marker (optional)We don’t colour in this lesson but of course, this is a fun one to add colour to. I usually use markers and layer them up for a 3D effect when I colour.Embark on this thrilling journey and let your creativity run wild in “Lost in the Jungle”!
