Description:
If you’ve been looking for a way to level up your creativity and take your Canva designs to the next level, then this just might be the course for you. Herein, I will teach you the skills and techniques you need to make your designs stand out above the rest. I’ll teach you how to create custom overlays, custom frames, and how to use these in concert with Canva’s animation tools to take your designs to the next level. But all of this does require something on you…Without fail, what do I end up seeing every time I scroll social media (besides the funny cat reels)? People boastfully showing off their Canva designs. And sometimes they are pretty cool. Other times, not so much. But that’s not what bothers me – I applaud anyone trying to grow their design skills — what bothers me is when they add that tagline. That cringe worthy grouping of words. ”100% MADE IN CANVA!”.Now, don’t get me wrong, Canva’s awesome and there’s nothing wrong with creating something 100% in Canva. I have been teaching Canva for years to thousands of students from all around the world and I can tell you that, yes, there are lots of cool things you can create 100% in Canva, so it’s not the words themselves that bother me so much. It’s the 100% mindset trap. It’s when they follow up their “100% MADE IN CANVA!” exclamation by then telling me that “CANVA CAN DO ANYTHING PHOTOSHOP CAN DO!” and then explaining to me the 1 hour process they used to create their design which I know could be done in 5 minutes. In Photoshop. : )Look, I’ve been using Canva for nearly 10 years, but I started using Photoshop 10 years before Canva even existed. And, NO! You can’t do everything in Canva that you can do Photoshop. Not even close. But the reverse is also true. They are different programs with different strengths and different weaknesses. And these are but 2 of countless tools that exist for designers and creators. So why this soapbox speech course promo? Well, here’s the thing…I do get that we can’t all budget for and learn every piece of software. We all have a finite amount of time. But with that same notion in mind, if there’s a way to save time and get better results, don’t you want to take it? Well, if you’re someone who likes to push the envelope in Canva then that’s exactly what I’m offering – a better way that will save you time. And it won’t cost you a dime.In this course we’re going to work mostly in Canva. I’ll teach you about frames and overlay, I’ll teach you techniques for getting the most out Canva’s animation tools. But then, I’m going to also teach you how to pair Canva with a free version of an online photo editor, Photopea, that mimics Photoshop. Don’t worry, it’s not hard to learn, and I’ll guide you through some simple techniques that will open up a new world of possibilities. Photopea will make the process of creating custom frames that we can then bring back into Canva a breeze. Photopea will be there to help us with masking, blending, and creating custom overlays. In short, Photopea will be there to help us with all the things Canva can’t do (or shouldn’t do b/c it would take WAY more time).…So that’s it, all that’s required of you is a willingness to sidestep the 100% Canva trap (and to come on this fun journey with me). You’re not denouncing your love of Canva, you’re just empowering yourself by adding a secret weapon into your design tool bag that pairs well with Canva. And Photopea isn’t even the real secret weapon, the weapon you, and your willingness to adopt the “smart workflow” mindset. Less time. More possibilities. Are you ready? I’m ready. Let’s get it! See you in the course.Cheers,Greg
