This course takes you through the key skills of rugby progressing each from first engagement with rugby, through to high performance techniques and tactics. Alongside Director of Rugby at Cambridge Rugby Club, Richie Williams you’ll learn how to teach all of the skills needed to be a competent rugby player and how to safely introduce contact and tackling.Gain an understanding of the key areas of rugbyLearn how to safely introduce contact and tackling to youth athletesDevelop an understanding of the techniques of a variety of passing optionsUnderstand how to develop attacking and defending skills and strategiesIn this course, Director of Rugby at Cambridge Rugby Club, Richie Williams will take you step by step through the key components of rugby.Richie has worked with national teams as the Head Coach of England U20s and England University 7’s, before becoming the Director of Rugby for Cambridge RUFC.The course will begin by introducing the basic evasion and handling skills required to effectively move with the ball, before introducing team attack tactics.We’ll also look at defensive tactics and how to safely and effectively introduce tackling to youth players.By the end of the course, you should understand how to teach rugby to players at any stage of their development.See you on the field!
